Favourite Summer Reads

With a long summer break from university, I have had the time to delve into my ever-growing ‘to read’ list. I wanted to share a few of my favorite books I have read thus far during the summer.

Tennis lessons – Susannah Dickey

A beautiful memoir that walks you through the ages of womanhood. This book is incredibly honest and captures the true thoughts as you transition into the beginning of adulthood. I found comfort and warmth from these words and inhaled this gorgeous book in a day.

Book Lovers - Emily Henry

A heart-warming story, that will make you laugh (especially if you are a ‘book lover’). A delicious read to enjoy by the beach or pool on your summer holiday this year. If you’re out of the reading rhythm, this novel will ease you back in – guiding you through an unexpected love story.

Great Circle – Maggie Shipstead

I love a book that can transport you to a moment in time and enable you to immerse yourself in a different era. Great Circle is a captivating novel that moves you through moments in history that are poignant for women. The quality of research conducted for the making of this story leaves you believing (hoping) that it could be based on true events - truly captivating.

The Comfort Book – Matt Haig

Moving, reassuring, and relatable. Matt Haig’s words resonate with so many due to his admirable transparency, drawing from his own struggles with mental health. This book will make you laugh, cry, and of course, feel comforted all in one.

An excerpt from ‘The Comfort Book’ which I found particularly emotive and thought it’s something we could be all reminded of from time to time.

Let me know of any great summer reads below!
