Lockdown Reads 2.O

Upon entering 2021, many of us found ourselves in yet another lockdown and if your anything like myself, perhaps filled with a mixed bag of emotions and anxiety. In order to take my mind else where I have emersed myself in novels and self-help books (anything to try to remain positive). I thought I would share a few of my favourites that I have read over the past month.

Perfect Remains – Helen Fields

The first of the D.I Callanach thrillers I have read however will certainly not be my last. This book was loaned to me by a friend, I had never heard of the author before, so I am thrilled she has shared this with me. This novel is set in Scotland, mainly in Edinburgh which is why I was instantly captivated by this story as I could vision it unfolding in the city, I call home. Fields tells this chilling story from the perspective of a killer as well as a detective. This book is page turner that I could not put down, in fact I read it in a day!

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff – Richard Carlson

A great book to start the year off. Carlson looks at many different topics and areas in your life to simplify in order to ensure the small things don’t take over your life. Very interesting read, with small steps that you can implement into your daily life.

The Guest List – Lucy Foley

This novel was filled with twists and turns, as the story unfolded more and more secrets were revealed, making it all the more harder to put down. Lucy Foley deadly crime thriller really did have me guessing up until the very last page.

Miracle Morning – Hal Elrod

This book was gifted to me by a friend, something I might not have selected for myself however enjoyed it non the less. This self-help book certainly aims to motivate the reader and highlights the importance to make time for yourself no matter how busy you may feel. Elrod also includes many other recommendations within the book for further reading, which is great if delve further in to transforming your life.
